La Liga outstanding wallets. Going to football in Spain is an expensive pleasure
Journalists from the Spanish publication MARCA compared ticket prices for football matches in the four major European championships and found out that, unfortunately, going to football in Spain is the most expensive.
Unemployment in Spain has reached an all-time high of 23%, and the cost of attending football matches continues to rise. La Liga is the leader among the four major European championships in this indicator. The average ticket price for a football match in Spain is 53 euros, while in the Italian Serie A – 48 euros, in the English Premier League – 44, and in the Bundesliga – 30.
In Spain there is, as such, no difference between the average price and the minimum price. The only exceptions are the highest places on the Mestalla (10 euros). And so, for watching the game at the stadium you will have to pay at least 25 euros. By the way, the cheapest ticket for a Getafe or Rayo Vallecano game costs the same as the most expensive ticket for a Manchester City or Bayer match.
Italy has its own peculiarities. The average price for a Serie A match can be either the lowest in Europe or the highest. For example, a Napoli game can be watched for 950 euros, and to see Inter at the San Siro, you have to pay 160 euros.
The system for determining the cost of tickets for football matches in Spain is different from other countries. There is a category – standard matches; and there is a derby. For matches involving Barcelona and Real Madrid, prices can increase by as much as 300%. For example, the usual cost of a ticket for an Osasuna match is from 36 to 60 euros. When Barça arrived in Pamplona, the price ranged from 90 to 110 euros.
Only Espanyol and Barcelona provide information on the scores of all their matches on the club websites. To watch Barcelona, on average, you need to pay from 38 to 116 euros. Her games with Levante and Rayo are ranked lowest – 19euros, while the cost of a ticket for meetings with Atlético and Espanyol reaches 167 euros, and up to 265 euros for El Clasico.
But there is another side to La Liga. For example, you can go to Real Sociedad matches for 25-50 euros. Further, depending on the opponents: with “Valencia” and “Seville” -35-60 euros. The most expensive tickets are for meetings with Athletic, Real Madrid and Barcelona (45-100 euros). Almost all clubs provide discounts for children. For example, Getafe matches children under 8 years old can visit for free.
The most attractive championships in terms of ticket prices are England and Germany. In the Premier League, going to a match is much cheaper than in Spain and Italy, with the exception of Arsenal and Chelsea games. The most important difference is the third category of English clubs. The minimum price for a Wigan game, for example, is 15 euros for everyone and 6 euros for families and persons under 16 years of age.
In the Bundesliga, modern stadiums are real commercial centers with a developed infrastructure, which, however, offer very affordable prices for attending matches. And despite the fact that the GDP in Germany is the highest in Europe. The average minimum price for a football match does not exceed 18 euros, and the maximum price is 37.50 euros for Hannover 96″ and 70 euros – for Bayer. There is a third category of tickets at almost ridiculous prices, as well as discounts. You can go to the Werder Bremen game for 11 euros, and to Borussia Dortmund – for 6.
Unexplained facts
Oviedo – La Roda – 25 euros per ticket, and Bayer – Barcelona can be watched for 15 euros. It seems almost unbelievable that an Oviedo fan would have to pay 25 euros to attend a regular match of a team from the third division, while a ticket to the Bayer’s game in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League against Barcelona costs only 15.
23% are unemployed and the prices are outrageous. In Spain, more than 5 million unemployed. Even despite this fact, football prices continue to rise.
Match times can hardly be called convenient, many people prefer to stay at home.
