Temperatures
Afternoon high temperatures tend to be around 23-24 C (73-75 F) early in October but fall to 21-22 C (69-72 F) near the end of the month.
A few of the warmer afternoons, especially early in October, can reach up near 27 C (80-81F).
The record high temperature in Barcelona during October is 30.6 C (87 F).
Late night and early lows tend to be near 16 C (60-61 F) early in October but cool to around 11-12 C (52-54 F) near the end of the month.
A few of the colder mornings, especially later in the month, can dip down near 7 C (45 F).
The record low temperature in Barcelona during October is 2.8 C (37 F).

October in Barcelona features, on average, about 14 sunny, 4 partly sunny, and 13 mostly cloudy days.
About 10 days this month record some rainfall, however, only 6 days will record at least 1 mm (0.04 inches).

The number of daylight hours continues to decrease rapidly this month from about 11.8 hours on the 1st, down to about 10.4 hours by the 31st.
Windspeed
The wind in Barcelona this month tends to be mostly light to gentle at 6-19 kph (4-12 mph) but occasionally can be moderate at 20-28 kph (13-18 mph).
Ocean and Beach
Ocean temperatures remain warm early in October when water temperatures are close to 22 C (72 F), however, temperatures fall to 19 C (66-67 F) near the end of this month.
What to Wear in Barcelona during October?
October brings fall weather to Barcelona, however, early in the month the afternoons can still be warm, and shorts and sandals may still work.
Thereafter, cooler weather prevails, especially at night and during the mornings, which will require a light jacket or windbreaker, long-sleeved shirts and tops, plus a couple of sweaters will come in handy.
Don’t forget sunglasses, and some comfortable walking shoes!
Things to Do in Barcelona during October
Although there will be some rainy days this month, the chance of a lot of rain is very small.
As such, this might be a good time to consider taking a pay-what-you-wish walking tour in Barcelona.
October is the month of Mercat de Mercats (Market of Markets), a 3-day fair with plenty of food, wine, and desserts to try.
Entry is free, but you might want to bring some money for food.
As the name implies, this is also the month of Oktoberfest, and you can expect a great event at Universe Square of Fira Barcelona Montjuïc.

Our Advice
In the weather log below, you will see that most of the time it is sunny with some overcast days in October. Although there are overcast days it is unlikely to rain. October is a good month where you can enjoy walking around the city as it will be mostly warm but not overly hot.
October is off peak season so you have the benefit of reasonably good weather without the crowds. You can visit the beach but it’s getting cooler now so you will find days that you can go and other days were it may be too cool.

Weather conditions for visiting Barcelona in OctoberWhat Spain is good for is the opportunity to comfortably relax in one of its cities at any time of the year. If it so happened that the vacation is scheduled for mid-autumn, and the desire to visit Barcelona has not decreased, we will please you – the weather in Barcelona in October is still not as autumnal as in central Russia. The text below presents the average statistical data on changes in air and sea temperatures throughout October. If you already miss summer and want to feel its last touches, it is better to visit Barcelona in the first 10 days of October. As a rule, at this time the temperature here is set in the range of 20-27 degrees, i.e. ideal conditions for a comfortable stay are created: not hot and not cold. The sea also does not have time to cool below 23 degrees – of course, not fresh milk, but you can still swim. From about the 10th, the air temperature begins to decrease. Atmospheric phenomenaPrecipitation in the form of rain is possible for approximately 4-5 days in October. Therefore, we advise you to take an umbrella with you – just in case. But with all this, for more than half of the month the sky is clear, for 10 days it is slightly cloudy or cloudy. The weather in Barcelona in October is conducive not so much to a beach holiday as to familiarization with local attractions, of which there are an incredible number in this city. How to be?
