Video: how to get from Barcelona to Paris with the TGV Duplex?
The first thing you need to know when planning a trip from Barcelona to Paris by car, own or rented, is the amount of gasoline, the location of gas stations along the way and the presence of paid sections on the route.
The shortest and most convenient route for traveling by car passes through the cities of Perpignan, Narbonne, Clermont-Ferrand, Bourges and Orléans. But on this route option there are several sections of the road that require payment.
Jocelyn Kinghorn / flickr.com
Therefore, although the way to travel to Paris by car is the most interesting and fastest, the journey will take about 9 hours, unless, of course, you do not stop anywhere. Before embarking on such a trip, you need to carefully calculate how much you will have to spend on it, taking into account the distance in km on paid sections, and spending on fuel, coffee, water and food along the way.
The opinion that if you buy everything you need and even gasoline for the entire number of kilometers separating the cities ahead of time in Barcelona, then you can save money is wrong. The cost of fuel in France is lower than in Spain, and the prices in roadside shops for drinks and fast food are no higher than the prices for them in Barcelona supermarkets.
As for toll roads, each kilometer on such sections will cost 10 euros. However, it is not necessary to use them at all, you can lay a route bypassing such highways, it will take more time to travel only on simple roads, at least it will be 12-15 hours.
