City beach
Lovely beach not the best in Barcelona but easy to get too on the L4 line, be aware of a lot of beach vendors trying to sell you things.
Enjoyed the boardwalk if you didn’t want to lay down on sand but still wanted to have views walking along the boardwalk is the next best thing.

Worth a view
We did this as our last ‘sight -see’ in Barca. It is a great monument in a lovely setting – I would say it is better than the famous Paris Arc!
Well situated for trains and metro we saw it before heading off to the airport.

Panoramic views of Barcelona
Our son recommended this place to us.
It wasn’t in our guidebook, but it’s very popular with the younger generation especially, who like to go up to the Bunkers to watch the sunset.
We are in our sixties, so felt like the oldest ones there, but if you take the metro L3 to Vallcarca, and the No.22 bus to Gran Turo de la Rovira (penultimate stop), it’s a short 10 minute walk to the top. There’s a set of concrete steps opposite the bus stop, and from there just keep heading uphill. The concrete bunkers were used for gun emplacements in the Civil War. They’re covered in graffiti now, and there are no facilities there, so take drinks with you. The views of the city are superb, and the 22 bus is very frequent, or you could even take a taxi out there, with a five minute walk to the top. We used our Hola Barcelona card on the metro and bus, and the bus stop is very close to Vallcarca Metro station. Worth a trip out for the views. We probably took an hour and a half out of our schedule to fit this in, but were glad we did.

Delightful
Gracia has been my favourite part of Barcelona for many years and I still find it delightful. A part of Barcelona that kept its character of a charming village and offers a welcomed break after the noise and crowds in more touristy spots across the city.

Lots of furniture to see
We enjoyed the house and all the details, especially the amount of furniture still in the home. You really got a sense of what it may have been like in its original time. Much more that the other homes we toured. The preservation and care taken to ensure it stays in as good of condition as possible was impressive. We did the guided tour at 10am as that was the first tour of the day. We did the 8:30 Casa Batllo prior and had about 30 min wait in-between. We didn’t realize the cafe was open, so if you do this schedule go to the cafe before your tour! Our guide was very nervous and checked his notes a few times, he struggled a bit to find the words he wanted in English. He warmed up a bit at the end as he relaxed more I think. I think he could use a bit more practice, but will be a great guide in the future. His passion for the house was evident in the at he shared his knowledge.
When we went off the script a bit you could tell that he was very knowledgeable about the home.

Great show.
The show was excellent. We got tickets last minute, there were 3 women who did about 6-7 dances, plus a guitarist and 2 singers. I wasn’t planning on this, but it’d have been a total miss if I didn’t go here. I don’t know much about flamenco, but I enjoyed this very much. Would go back (esp if they perform different songs each time, I’d think so.).

Another marvellous legacy from the industrial powerhouse of textiles
An eclectic trio of exhibitions were absorbing.
Six Egyptian mummies from the British Museum featured. Accompanied with the latest scientific research, elucidating the customs and society of civilisations of millennia ago.
A selection from the Prado comprised great works including premier portraits by luminaries such as Goya.
Another exposition constituted non European magical outlooks, plus contemporary interpretations of eternal themes.
Its home is worthy of mention. Another marvellous legacy from the industrial powerhouse of textiles, a former textile factory imagined by the famous Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Completed in 1911 it lasted only 8 years producing textiles.
Having a number of roles until it was acquired by the Foundation in 1963, it opened as a cultural outlet in 2002.

Meet a guide in central Barcelona, then travel to the Spanish village of Baga, where you have views of the rocky peaks in Cadi-Moixero National Park.
Tour the village’s square and medieval church. Then, head deeper into the countryside toward the French border.
Next, stop at the ancient spa town of Ax-Les-Thermes. Discover some natural fountains, soak your feet in the healing waters, and enjoy the free time to browse local artisan shops and explore this traditional French village.
Meet your guide back at the bus, climb aboard, and travel to Andorra. Travel through the scenic Pyrenees Alps on route to Andorra la Vella. Along the route, cross the Pas de la Casa, a high mountain pass with some ample photo opportunities.
Descend into Andorra, stopping off at a mountain valley to explore tiny stone huts that dot the mountainside and an ancient Roman church stands.
From here you head down the valleys into Andorra de la Vella. This will be your last stop of the day, but you have enough time to do a little bit of duty-free shopping and grab a quick bargain.
Begin the return to Barcelona in the late afternoon, pausing for a drink in Coll de Nargo along the way and finishing the day at a central location in Barcelona.

We had the most interesting and entertaining day on our trip. Gloria our guide is an excellent storyteller and made the history alive and entertaining. We loved being Gloria’s people for the day. The landscapes were spectacular.
The only suggestion would be to make the stop in Ax-les-Thermes longer and the one in Andorra la Vella shorter. We found Ax-les-Thermes much more interesting

A Must When Visiting Barcelona! 3 Countries, 12 hours!
Apr 2023
We took the 3 country tour on 04/16/2023. Sergio was our guide. He was funny, informative, and helpful. Alex(?) our driver was professional and made it a smooth ride the entire trip.
It is an early departure so get a good night’s rest the night before. There are no food or drinks provided so bring your own.
First stop was Barga. It is a bit of a drive but it is a beautiful drive surrounded by beautiful landscapes with a couple castle’s on the way. It’s a beautiful remote village of Spain. You spend about 45 minutes where you get to see the remains of the original fortress, a beautiful medieval church, and some small shops.
Next stop is Thermes d’Ax in France. Again the drive is surrounded by beautiful scenery! Quite a view. The town itself is quite small but there are small shops and a variety of food establishments to chose from. We ate at Le Comptoir where I had
a very delicious hamburger and fries. My father had the soup (beef) which they’re known for. It was amazing. He had one of the last remaining portions. The town also has a small beautiful church. It also has 3 public foot baths to chose from. The bath water is from natural springs. I didn’t like the sulfur smell so I didn’t try them.
The final stop is Andorra. You are taken to the capital Andorra La Vella. You spend about an hour and half there. The town is known for it’s shopping so I recommend you do a quick online search to see what stores you would like to check out. It’s also known for it’s very low taxes/duties so some alcohol is quite cheap. Plenty of food options as well. Andorra is not part of the European Union, however they do take Euro, so it can get expensive to connect to their cell network. Sergio recommended we turn off data and/or place the phone in airplane mode to avoid the international roaming fee.
My observations from this trip:
1. Bring water and small snacks. The drive in between towns is long so water and snacks, just in case.
2. Get a good night’s sleep the night before. It’s a 12 hour trip with an early departure.
3. Bring a travel pillow for napping on the bus.
4. You’ll need your passport so don’t forget it.
5. Seating is not assigned so you may not get to sit with your entire group.
6. Wear your seat belt!!! If you get pulled over by Spanish Police the fine for not wearing seat belts is $200 euro per person!!! The individual incurs the fine NOT the tour company.
***I suggest the tour guides inform individuals of this and advise/recommend passengers to wear seatbelts for safety purposes and to avoid fines***
7. The trip is worth it! Sergio was funny and informative. He definitely knows a lot about the regions you’re visiting. 3 countries in 12 is exhausting so the tour allows for someone else to do the driving while you relax and enjoy the views or take a nap. You’ll be surrounded by beauty the minute you leave the metropolitan area of Barcelona, hills, mountains, forests, rivers, waterfalls. The upper elevations may be cold so dress accordingly. The trip is a definite must and I highly recommend it.

This is a lot to do! The places that you go to are beautiful and Cam out guide was great! He really tried to make the most of our day. The only problem was that we went on Easter Monday and so many places were closed. That was not something that we thought of happening when we booked our outing. Cam did point out so many interesting things as we were traveling. He was also the first one to put their feet in the hot spring waters! It was too hot for me. He also knows the best restaurants in the towns and where to go for a great breakfast croissant!

Amazing Tour
Mar 2023 • Couples
Sergio was our tour guide and we had such an amazing time. Yes you will be on a bus all day but you are going to see 3 different countries that are so different. It honestly didn’t feel bad and the scenery is so beautiful you won’t be bored. We had about 30 minutes in Baga that included getting the best chocolate croissant and a nice walking tour. Then we drove through the beautiful French countryside to Ax-les-thermes where I fell in love walking around the cute town for about 90 minutes. We ended in Andorra la Vella which I didn’t care too much for as it was a mini city but seeing the Pyrenees mountains was breathtaking. My husband and I totally thought the tour was worth it.

Delight! Space!
Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is one of the most amazing buildings I have ever seen! I was amazed by the scale and beauty of this place, and it seems to me that it is a real miracle of architecture.
The entrance to the temple is decorated with majestic facades that describe scenes from the Bible, and inside the viewer is in for a stunning beauty. The architect Antonio Gaudí has created amazing forms, decorated with granite and mosaics, and every element of the building seems to be thought out to the smallest detail.
One of the most impressive moments was climbing one of the towers, which offers a breathtaking view of Barcelona.
I was blown away by the height and space of this place and I feel like Sagrada Familia is a must visit place in Barcelona.
Overall, I was very impressed with Sagrada Familia and I think it’s one of the most amazing places to visit in Europe. If you haven’t been here yet, be sure to visit this place!
Tickets must be purchased online and in advance! Just come to the building, buy tickets and go inside, if you are an independent traveler, it will not work!

Iconic place, I really liked it. I didn’t go inside, I looked only from the outside.
Many experts note that the construction of Casa Batllo in Barcelona marked a new stage in the work of Antoni Gaudi, when he completely departed from the styles known at that time and began to follow exclusively his own architectural ideas.Casa Batllo is one of the main attractions of Barcelona.

The very charm of Barcelona
The first place I went to when I came to Barca on my own was the Gothic Quarter. Without him, the city would lose all its charm. The soul of Catalonia is located on the Ramblas, but the heart is definitely here. All buildings belong to the period of 14-15 centuries. The buildings are chaotic medieval, but you can afford to get lost here for a couple of hours) Although people lived here back in the time of Emperor Octavian Augustus, the remains of Roman buildings can still be seen .. In a word, Must See in Barcelona!

A magnificent creation of the Master
Yes – Gaudi, yes – great! Of course, it delights, but there is one “BUT” – you see, for security reasons, access to the main observation deck is limited. Therefore, if you are going to enjoy the “iconic” view of Barcelona from this park, get ready to stand in a long queue (even on a weekday in the off-peak season).

Mercat de la Boqueria
Located on the Rambla, in the part of the Rambla of Flowers, which used to be called the Rambla of St. Joseph. The modern name has taken root because a myriad of flower shops and shops are concentrated on this segment of the boulevard. Boqueria was opened on 19March 1840 on the day of St. Joseph, which is why the boulevard originally got its name. The market acquired its completed look with a recognizable roof only in 1914. Boqueria is famous throughout Barcelona for its huge selection of fresh products, and its area is 2500 square meters. meters. There are many bars in the market.

Magic Fountain (Montjuic Fountain)
The Magic Fountain of Montjuic is a fountain located on the Montjuic hill in Barcelona. The Magic Fountain was built for the 1929 World Exhibition in Barcelona in a futuristic style in the shape of an ellipse, designed by local engineer Carlos Buigas.
This giant fountain, consisting of many small jets, begins to shimmer with the music of Bach, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky in thousands of colors, constantly changing its shape.
It is as if he performs a magical dance, the movements of which are never repeated during the entire performance.

Barcelona Maritime Church
Church of St.
Mary on the Sea so the name of the basilica is translated. It was built back in 1383 and during its long life it has been subjected to many trials – this is an earthquake, wars and a fire, but it stands and is still close to God, as it should be by status. It was built at the time when the era of the Great Geographical Discoveries was just beginning and travel across the seas and oceans was dangerous and fraught with many difficulties. Therefore, sailors love this church especially. I recommend!

Beautiful architecture
Atmospheric place in Barcelona. This is a private house built by the genius Gaudi by order of an admirer of his talent, the industrialist Güell in 1890 year. Entrance to the building and inspection (including the roof) is paid = 12 euros. Near the pedestrian Rambla, finding a house is easy. Inside, the luxury of finishing and it is clear why the house is called a palace. I recommend.

Palau Nacional: Palace that became a Museum…
In 1929, Catalonia, and, I believe, all of Spain, rejoiced – of course, because the beautiful Barcelona hosted the guests of the World Exhibition, designed to demonstrate the achievements of various peoples of our planet. It is clear that the Catalan Spaniards approached this matter very creatively.
First of all, they began to look for a decent-sized plot of land on which it was planned to build, if not a whole new city, then something that, without the “be”, would conquer the minds of the Exposición Internacional participants (and it required at least a hundred hectares !!!).
A kind of architectural “driver” of the idea was the notorious Josep Puig i Cadafalch, one of the largest representatives of Spanish Art Nouveau in architecture, who eventually switched to the position of Catalan nousentism. At his suggestion, Montjuic was chosen for the construction of the exhibition area, rising at the end of the avenida of Queen Maria Cristina (Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina), coming from Plaza de España (Plaça d’Espanya).
Among other objects planned for construction was the National Palace (Palau Nacional or Palacio Nacional). Despite its relative newness, the building, designed by the architects Enric Sata, Eugenio Pere Sendoya and Pere Domenech i Roura, is an interesting example of urban architecture, in the appearance of which, thanks to the genius of the mentioned Masters, reminiscences of the Spanish Renaissance and academic classicism. I believe that it would be appropriate to mention that in the design, I will not be afraid of the word of the word, the grandiose monumental architectural creation was attended by outstanding sculptors and artists, representatives of Catalan nousentism Enric Casanovas i Roy, Frederic Mares Deulovol, Josep Limona i Bruguera, Francesc d’Assis Gali y Fabra, Josep de Togores y Llach, Manuel Humbert y Esteva, Josep Obiols y Palau, Francesc Labarta y Planas, etc.
Describing the architecture of the Palau Nacional is a thankless task, because almost SEVEN million of all kinds of publications on this topic will be offered to you by the smart Internet. After the completion of the Exposició Internacional de Barcelona in 1930, the history of the National Palace gained a second “breath”: in 1934, the National Museum of Catalan Art was located within its majestic walls, uniting under its shadow the previously existing expositions of two independent museums – the art of Catalonia and modern art. If you have enough time and love to hang out around the museum, then you will have unforgettable hours of pleasant acquaintance with a collection of different genres – from Romanesque frescoes to Catalan easel painting, from French Baroque painting to Italian Quattrocento, from numismatics to bonistics. Highly recommend!!!Review for: National Art Museum of Catalonia

Loved it!
We spent 3 hours in the museum and didn’t see everything. The child turned 4 a month ago, a lot was interesting. The adults loved it too! From there you can walk to the funicular to Tibidabo (35-40 min walk, most of the way the scenery around is pleasant).

General information
Barcelona (Barcelona) – the capital of Catalonia in Spain, one of the most ancient and famous cities in the world and Europe. Barcelona’s location on the Mediterranean coast is almost perfect.
It stretches along the foothills of the Collserola Mountains between the two rivers Llobregat and Besos, near the border with France.
Its area is 100 sq. km. Although the population is about 2 million people, but together with the suburbs it is almost 5 million inhabitants.
Previously, there was a Roman settlement called Barcino. This is probably where the name of the city, Barcelona, comes from.

History
A beautiful legend says that it was founded by Hercules (the hero of ancient Greek myths). According to another version, the founding father of Barcelona was Hamilcar Barca.
Romans, Moors, Franks, Britons and others have tried to conquer it throughout the ages. But, despite this, the city has preserved its heritage to this day.
Now it is one of the most visited cities in the world.
Barcelona has preserved a lot of sights, as it was one of the richest cities in Europe.
Almost every building here is an architectural monument. The huge, 60-meter monument to the famous navigator Columbus is impressive. The monument is located exactly in the place where Columbus returned after the discovery of America.
The 6,000-square-meter Boqueria Old Market is also an eye-catcher. It is located in the central part of Barcelona, at the exit to the Rambla.
The market has turned into a tourist attraction, where you can not only buy jamon, olive oil, cheeses, etc. for the table, but also admire the buildings decorated with mosaics.
You can see the main masterpieces of the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí:
Casa Mila (1906-1910),
Casa Batlló or Batlló,
Park Güell (1900-1914), over 17 hectares,
and the Sagrada Familia, which has been under construction for almost 130 years.
All of these sites are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

If you are in Barcelona for the first time, it is usually recommended to go to the boulevard or Passeig de Gracia (Passeig de Gracia). It is located in the city center. It takes about an hour and a half.
Parks also attract tourists. After Park Güell, the park on the hill of Montjuic is very popular.
It can be reached by cable car. The second cable car (Telefericos de Montjuic) operates on the Montjuic hill.
In the evening, it is advised to visit the Plaza de España and see a magnificent light and musical performance: singing fountains.
In summer, the show is held from Thursday to Sunday, the rest of the time on Friday and Saturday.
In general, the best time for city tours is spring, early summer and autumn.

You will see the most interesting and beautiful places in the city. You can get off the bus, take a closer look at the building or monument you are interested in, and get on the next bus. With the Bus Touristik ticket, you can get a discount on admission to some museums. The buses have an audio guide and Wi-Fi.
