Shopping in Barcelona
In order not to miss great deals and sales, we recommend using the help of experienced guides registered on our website.
The best shopping in Barcelona in 2023
The city can be divided into 3 shopping zones:
- Center
Here you will find a huge number of shops of world brands, ranging from affordable Zara and Mango to prestigious D&G and Chanel. The most “fashionable” street in Barcelona is Passeig de Gràcia, located near the central square. The number of tourists here is huge, and shopping is literally in full swing. Parallel to the avenue runs the equally famous Rambla de Cataluña. Nearby are 2 more shopping “arteries” of the city – Portal de L´Angel and Pelai streets.
- Old Town
In this area you will find many boutiques for every taste. American Apparel and Adidas Originals are located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter on Avinyó Street. On Rec and Bonaire streets in the Born district, there are retail outlets for Sonia Rykiel, Paul Smith, and others. Here you can find interesting vintage items and goods from Spanish designers.
- West zone
This area is popular among local bohemians. This includes the areas of Eixampe, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Gràcia. Here you will find the most fashionable boutiques and designer shops.
Our site has registered guides who have lived in Barcelona for many years and know all the intricacies of local shopping.
To get the best deal, we recommend waiting for the sales season. Like in many other European cities, in Barcelona they are held in 2 stages – in winter: from January to the end of March, and in summer: from July to September.
At the very beginning of the sale, discounts in shops and boutiques are no more than 40%. After a couple of weeks, the second “wave” begins, when prices are reduced by 50-75%. But you need to understand that the assortment is also sharply narrowing by this time, so it will be almost impossible to find running sizes.
Most non-food shops in Barcelona are open from 10 am to 8 pm Monday to Saturday.
