What can I say, I’m a sucker for a romantic vacation with the wife. When I’m in charge of planning, I try and pick the most romantic hotel I can find to set the mood right and have a memorable trip. Here are some romantic hotels in Barcelona that I have on my radar.

For me, a romantic hotel is a place with excellent design, creative room layouts, and great views. I always look to integrate a balcony and a spacious bathroom. The more creative the better which is why I love our first choice, Hotel Neri. One of the room typology comes with an open air bathtub!

Hotel Neri looks like the perfect hotel for romantic couples in my eyes. It is situated right in the Gothic Quarter which is great for fun nights out and peaceful strolls.
The hotel itself is modern and has a lot of fun features. Some of the rooms have outdoor bathtubs which are totally risqué and fun! That appears to be in the “Deluxe room with Terrace” only.
For the price, I likely am going to reserve this one with the wife which feels like a safe choice!

Barcelona hotels can be insanely nice at super low prices and Sir Victor is a great example. Prices may likely increase when travel demand returns, but they would have to double to match the market of other major EU cities and I don’t see that happening.
Sir Victor is a great hotel, with modern rooms, a beautiful pool, and excellent reviews. For me, it is an easy option as a romantic, family-friendly, or simply a nice hotel.

Ohla is a real gem because it is a large contemporary hotel in the Gothic Quarter that is priced reasonably. Standard rooms sit in the mid 200s which means you can upgrade to a larger typology if you have a stronger budget.
I often look to upgrade the room a bit when on a romantic trip with my wife. It is difficult to be suave if you are tripping over luggage and a balcony is a great place to share a glass of wine in the evenings!

The W Barcelona is one hell of a hotel. They have ridiculous suites costing $10k/night outfitted with DJ equipment to standard rooms with king beds and partial water views for under $400/night.
The price for a standard room is actually very reasonable considering how luxurious the hotel is, the location, and that it is basically the nicest hotel in Barcelona.
This is an excellent choice for those of you who want a nice hotel and are ok with taking a taxi to visit the main sites of the city. It is easily one of the best hotels in Barcelona.

I love this hotel for many reasons but above all the design and location. The soft earth-tone colors are relaxing which is what you really need on vacation. Sitting on the balcony and having a freshly-squeezed orange juice would be a dream come true.
It is also in this perfect little pocket very close to everything. You could walk into the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona or hang around Passeig de Gràcia and do some shopping.
They also have some killer deals for their “buy now, stay later” feature on the site. Flexible stays for the future at discounted rates. I love it! Nothing says romance like a hotel suite!

It is rare that 5 Star hotels cost less than $200, but Eurostars is a spacious and luxurious hotel at low costs.
If you have a larger budget consider upgrading to a larger room typology.
The location is unique in that you are not super connected to the center so consider what you are traveling to Barcelona for. This may be more of a couples hotel in my opinion as you will likely be taking a lot of taxis and that can get hectic with small children.
If you are traveling for a romantic vacation, this hotel has stunning views of Montjuïc and the rest of Barcelona which is why it makes our “Sexy Hotel” list!

If you’re looking for a romantic vacation in one of Europe’s most fascinating cities, Barcelona has plenty of wonderful options.
The city is ripe with charming and romantic boutique hotels, whether you’re looking to stay in the Old City and enjoy the historic buildings of the Gotico, or would rather stay along the sea and wake up to the Mediterranean, there are some great choices. The Arts Hotel and the W are both ideal options if you want to stay closer to the water. Both hotels are directly on the water. Their pool areas are ideal for lounging and their rooms will have you in awe. The staff deal with plenty of couples at both of these hotels, so they can help make it extra special. Another unique gem for romantic vacations, is the Neri Hotel. Tucked away in Plaza Sant Felip Neri, this small hotel has a quiet and private rooftop terrace, which you wouldn’t even know was there unless you asked first. They also have a nice patio overlooking the small courtyard where you can see remnants from the civil war marked into the stone walls. The Neri is a beautiful, luxury hotel in the heart of the city’s most historic neighborhood.

It–s hard to believe there is a hotel located directly across from such a visage; Barcelona–s famous Cathedral. Try to request one of the Superior Double rooms or Junior Suites and you–ll be able to walk out onto your private terrace every morning and stare directly at this incredible masterpiece. It’s a romantic getaway, right in the center of the city’s most historic neighborhood, the Gothic Quarter. The Colon is a small, intimate and quiet getaway, from the typical loud and noisy atmosphere found on Barcelona–s busy downtown streets in Ciutat Vella (Old City). It’s a stone’s throw from excellent bars and restaurants and easy to walk to the Born, Plaza Catalunya, the Raval as well as the beach.

Perhaps the only questionable detail about this hotel is the location, as if you’re looking to be in the city center then it’s a bit of a trek.
Other than that, Abac embodies the essence of gastronomy, architecture, design, romance and boasts a truly avant-garde experience. Situated atop Tibidabo, the panoramic city views are incredible, providing for an exceptionally romantic feel. If you don’t mind a short drive or taking a quick train ride into the city center, then it’s an ideal place to stay. Their spa is a treat and worth checking out if you’re seeking some R&R and wellness healing, or an exciting couples massage.

You can’t get much more romantic than Enrique Granados street, right where America Hotel is situated. This pedestrian walkway is full of charming bars and restaurants and attracts a young, hip and classy crowd.

If you’re looking to stay slightly outside of the city center, yet still want to be close and within walking distance of great shopping and major attractions, then the Alma is a great choice. It’s incredibly romantic, with the outdoor garden and rooftop terrace with 360 degree views of the entire city.
The rooms are large and fully equipped, ideal for a honeymoon vacation or one where you’d rather spend more time in the room than out of it. This is a hip and trendy hotel in the city center. Casa Camper is an comfortable, classy yet affordable accommodation with a young, energetic vibe. It’s romantic in that it’s small and personable and in one of the Old City’s less ‘chartered’ neighborhoods, the Raval. This is an assuming hotel, with a lot of charm and character. It’s ideal for couples allowing for both a quiet and relaxed vacation, while also providing for the opportunity to bar hop and club until the early hours of the morning, if the need arises.
Rambla del Raval is just a stone’s throw away with excellent dining options as well.

The views alone are worth the stay at the W. Whether you–re sipping pricey (yet innovative) cocktails in Eclipse, the 26th floor club, or chilling by the wet bar in the pool, pretty much anywhere you set foot you–ll have prime seats overlooking the Mediterranean as well as Barcelona–s beautiful coastline. The longer you stay at the hotel the more you–ll notice the incredible attention to detail. From the –pillow guide– by your bedside table, to the quirky expressions all around the hotel (ex: the sign on the way down to Bliss Spa reads: spahhhhhh), there is a noticeable touch of design, art and fashion throughout. This is a top of the line hotel, yet there are a few rooms that might not break the bank and still offer incredible sea views from the comfort of your bed.

Located in the chic, Born neighborhood, Chic & Basic has a mix of apartments and hotels throughout the city. The one in the Born is particularly romantic as it’s in the center of charming boutique shops and one of a kind stores, featuring beautiful clothing and accessories. The 1898–s rooftop terrace is next to unbeatable. Boasting 360-degree views of the entire city, with its medium sized pool and plenty of deck space it’s an ideal spot for family meals at their outdoor restaurant or just fun to laze around, soak up the sun and enjoy the pool together.
Coupled with the terrace, the other main selling point for this hotel is location. Walk out the main entrance (there are two entrances) and you–re on the famous, La Rambla or dine at their downstairs restaurant adjacent to the lobby, while watching the street performers entertain the tourists directly across the way.

One of the Gothic Quarter’s most charming and elegant hotels, this boutique accommodation caters to those who want to mix culture with luxury. It’s a tiny hotel, with a small staff and the rooms aren’t huge, however they’re very tastefully decorated and quite classy. The restaurant downstairs is an intimate and relaxing place to dine and in the summer the outdoor patio is perfect for a few drinks, while overlooking the Plaza Sant Felip Neri.
There is also a quiet and hidden rooftop terrace where you can nap under the trees or sit in the hammock and read a book.

Excellent hotel in the very center. Lovely modern design. Everything is done with great taste and love. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, well cleaned. Beds and pillows are excellent. We took the deluxe. Although the windows face the street, the sound insulation is so good that you sleep in complete silence.
The breakfasts are beyond praise. Everything is of the highest quality. Excellent jamon, slightly salted salmon, a large selection of vegetables and fruits, green salad, hummus, excellent pastries. I even had gluten-free bread cooked in the oven. Any kind of scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs will also be prepared for you. Various types of muesli and cereals, unusual freshly squeezed juices, such as carrot, orange, ginger, etc. Various types of vegetable milk. Very pleasant and professional waiters. They smile, bring everything quickly, clear the table when they see a dirty plate. We lived here for 8 days and each breakfast for us was a pleasant start to the day, a small holiday. The staff at the reception was very interested in helping us several times to resolve our issues. Thank you. We will be in Barcelona and will stay here again.
