The head of the Center for Initiative Youth Askar Almaz uulu will participate in the elections of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh with the socio-political party “El Umutu” (“Hope of the People”). He announced this on social media.

Recall that under the chairmanship of Askar Almaz uulu, the party “Bizdin El” (“Our People”) entered the Bishkek City Council in the April 11 elections. Then the voting results were canceled due to gross violations of the rival parties. Askar Almaz uulu’s team refused to go to the repeated elections to local keneshes due to financial circumstances. And the main functionaries of the party, including Askar Almaz uulu himself, officially left the Bizdin El political organization.

For the upcoming parliamentary elections, they united in a new socio-political party “El Umutu” (“Hope of the People”), having officially registered it in the Ministry of Justice on August 17 of this year.

The editors contacted Askar Almaz uulu to ask a few questions. And the first one: why did his team change flags?

— At the time of our nomination to the Bishkek city kenesh, we did not have our own party, and the newly created ones did not have the right to participate in the elections. But then we already had a team of young people who care for their people, for the development of the country, capable of changing the current rotten political system. And we took advantage of the proposal of Mairambek Rasulov – to take his party “for rent”. 19February, the powers of the chairman of the Bizdin El party were entrusted to me. With this party, we honestly, without using dirty political technologies, entered the BGK, having received colossal, in my opinion, support from citizens … Further events played their role, we decided in principle not to depend on anyone and create our own party. It is better to start your own story from scratch.

— If you were not able to participate in the re-elections of the BGK due to financial problems, then the question naturally arises, where does the money for the parliamentary elections come from?

– Even now there is not much money. When we first went to the polls, in the Bishkek City Council, we collected everything that was possible – 2.5 million soms. Then we tried our hand and justified both the tasks set and the hopes of our supporters. Unfortunately, there were no funds for the re-elections. Therefore, we decided not to go to the BGK, but to gather strength and means to run for the Jogorku Kenesh. Despite a very modest fund, we know that this is enough. First, we have become even stronger in our beliefs. Secondly, we are not going to buy votes, but count on the sincere support of our supporters, on the fact that our ideals and principles will resonate in the hearts of the majority of Kyrgyzstanis. We need to change the system of electing people’s deputies. We’re going to do it. And communicate more with voters through social networks and in person – eye to eye. And we will use the money that we and our supporters collect very precisely, transparently and will report for each som.

– Today, many parties are uniting to collect more votes in elections. Are you going to form an alliance with someone?

— No. We rely only on our own strength. To date, none of the parties that have notified the CEC of participation in the elections does not meet our principles. The lists of most of them include obsolete politicians. They have already shown themselves with a well-known result, it’s time for new shots.

— How do you assess your chances in the elections?

– We intend to win! The country needs a chance to develop. And we are the same party of the “new format” that the people of Kyrgyzstan have been waiting for. The main thing is that the elections are fair and transparent. We count on it.

– Earlier it was reported that your party is supported by the president. Is it so?

— The President has already stated that he will not interfere in the parliamentary elections. And I have said before that we did not receive blessings from anyone. If the head of state shares our principles, stakes on young and principled cadres, then you can call it support, and consider us a pro-government party.
