Metro anuncia alternativas de viaje para la gran construcción de las Líneas Azul y Amarilla este otoño

For immediate release: June 15, 2022

The city authorities told how the Ulitsa Stroiteley metro station will look like

Recall that the station will be built at the intersection of Leninsky Prospekt with Stroiteley and Panferov streets. The total area of the station will be about 17 thousand square meters.

Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov said that the Moscow Committee for Architecture made final adjustments and approved the design of Ulitsa Stroiteley station of the future Troitskaya metro line. It will be decorated in light gray tones with bright yellow accents. The sloping facing of the columns, as conceived by the authors, will be bright yellow, the track walls and floor will be lined with white marble and black granite.

“The station will be decorated with checkmark columns with bright yellow accents – this is a bold modern solution, in addition, a clear reference to building fasteners. These can be seen on cranes, for example. Lights on the ceiling form a continuous line. Lighting devices will also be placed in black decorative structures above the passenger pick-up and drop-off areas. Ground pavilions will have an original entrance portal with an L-shaped arch lined with yellow metal panels,” said Sergey Kuznetsov.

Rectangular columns with dark metal panels will also be erected in the center of the ticket hall. The floor and ceiling are lined with light gray granite, and the walls are covered with snow-white marble. Due to the color solution, the lobby will look discreet and at the same time extraordinary.

“Stroiteley Street” will become one of 16 stations of the future Troitskaya metro line, the construction of which began in 2018. The opening of a new section of the metro will reduce the load on the central and southern sections of the Sokolnicheskaya and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya lines, reduce the intensity of car traffic along the adjacent streets, which, in turn, will improve the environmental situation in the south-west of the capital,” said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

International protection and application for asylum in Spain

Who can apply for international protection in Spain?

International protection is granted to all persons who have left their country of origin or habitual residence or who, while outside it, cannot return for non-economic reasons. International protection is granted in the form of refugee status or subsidiary protection.

Law 12/2009 governing the right to asylum and subsidiary protection in Spain can be found at:

  • Refugee status is granted to any person who has a well-founded fear of being persecuted in his country on account of race, religion, nationality, political views, belonging to a certain social group, gender or sexual orientation.
  • Subsidiary protection is granted to persons who cannot return to their country of origin because of a real risk of serious harm as a result of a death sentence or execution, torture or inhuman or degrading treatment, or a serious threat to life or physical integrity due to mass violence caused by internal or international conflict situations.
  • The possibility of granting a residence permit on humanitarian grounds is provided in the following cases: the applicant suffers from a serious illness requiring specialized medical care that is not available in the country of origin, or if the transfer to the country of origin or permanent residence involves a threat to the safety of the applicant or his (her) family .

Where can I apply for asylum?

To apply for asylum in Barcelona, you need to follow this link and make an appointment with the Office for Refugees and Asylum, located at Passeig de Sant Joan, 189. Metro station L4 Joanic (yellow line).

In addition, an application for asylum can be submitted at state border checkpoints, ports, airports and temporary detention centers for foreign citizens (CIE).

Can I apply for asylum from abroad?

The Spanish asylum law provides for the possibility that Spanish ambassadors abroad can facilitate the relocation of an applicant for international protection who has applied to a diplomatic mission with a declaration of the existence of a threat to his physical integrity, provided that this person is not a citizen of a country in which it is located.

What are the steps involved in the asylum process?

Stage 1. Initial processing. Within one month, the OAR (Office of Refugees and Asylum) will notify the applicant that his application has been rejected. If during this month the applicant is not contacted, the application is considered accepted for processing.

If you submitted your application at a state border checkpoint, the authorities must decide whether or not to accept your application for consideration within four days.

Stage 2. Review. If your application is accepted, it will be carefully reviewed by the OAR.

Stage 3. Decision. After your application has been reviewed, you will be notified of the decision.

Remember that the EU Member State in which you first arrived is responsible for granting international protection. Therefore, if you entered the EU through Spain, you need to apply in Spain.

Is this process confidential?

Yes. The entire process is confidential and all persons who communicate with you as part of this process (government officials, police officers, translators, lawyers) are required to keep everything you say confidential.

The fact that you have applied for international protection in Spain is never communicated to the government of your country of origin.

Can I count on the help of a lawyer and an interpreter?

Yes. Persons applying for international protection are entitled to free legal assistance and the services of an interpreter.

The Service for Immigrants, Emigrants and Refugees (SAIER) of the City of Barcelona will provide you with information on how to prepare an application. You can sign up for the Service by following this link.

What rights do I get when applying for asylum?

Asylum seeker status entitles you to stay in Spain for as long as your application is pending. All processes of extradition and deportation from the country are suspended. You are also entitled to legal and medical assistance, to access government programs for international protection and refugees, and to receive international protection documents.

What documents will I receive?

The first document you will receive is a Notice of Intention to Apply for International Protection. It will indicate the day and place of the interview (for processing the application), the identity of the person concerned, his photograph and the documents that he must submit to the interview.

Upon completion of the interview, you will be given a receipt confirming the acceptance of your application for international protection. This document is your temporary identification and confirms that you have applied for international protection. It has a validity period of one month and can be extended for another eight months. This is a preliminary document that is valid until the consideration of the submitted application. After this 6 month period, you will receive a work permit in Spain.

After nine months you will have to renew it and you will be issued a red card. This document is your temporary identification and confirms that you have applied for international protection. It allows you to stay in Spain and work on the territory of the state for six months. This is an interim document provided prior to the consideration of the submitted application.

Stateless applicants are issued a green document with photo and Alien Identification Number (NIE), but do not have a work permit.

What social benefits am I entitled to?

The Spanish government runs a social assistance program for asylum seekers who have no means of subsistence, which covers their basic needs.

To be eligible, you must apply for international protection within the first six months of your arrival in the EU.

If you live in the province of Barcelona, to participate in the program you can make an appointment with SAIER through this link, where you will be provided with all the necessary information.

You should be aware that this is a national refugee accommodation program that operates throughout Spain and it is the Spanish government that decides where you will be placed, no matter where you start your application for international protection.

Who will make a decision on my case and when?

The Spanish Government is the only authority with powers in the field of asylum. The decision will be made by the Minister of the Interior of Spain on the proposal of the Interministerial Commission for Asylum and Refugees (CIAR).

Once an application has been accepted for consideration, the maximum time for a decision is six months. However, this process usually takes longer. If the decision is delayed, you must be informed of the reasons for the delay. Remember that you have the right to be informed about the status of your case.

What is additional protection?

Subsidiary protection is granted to persons who cannot return to their country of origin because of a real risk of serious harm as a result of a death sentence or execution, torture or inhuman or degrading treatment, or a serious threat to life or physical integrity due to mass violence caused by internal or international conflict situations.

Am I eligible for family reunification?

Yes, subject to a positive decision (granting refugee status or subsidiary protection). The following persons have the right to family reunification: a spouse or partner, relatives of the first degree of relationship, provided that they confirm their dependence on such a person, as well as minor relatives of the first degree of relationship. This right may also be granted to other family members, provided that their dependence on the person who has been granted international protection is confirmed and they previously lived together in the country of origin.

Will I get Spanish citizenship when granted international protection?

No, however, once you have been granted refugee status, your access to citizenship is shortened and you can apply for citizenship after five years.

What happens if my asylum application is rejected?

In this case, you must leave Spain unless you have any kind of residence permit.
