Being picked up from home is such a joy. Taken to Portsmouth, checked in and shown to the Grill for our lunch whilst the luggage was being taken to our room.
We had been on the sister ship last time so thought we would try this one plus a bit of warmer weather would be good in winter. The staff were excellent as usual, food selection was vast and very tasty.
Entertaining was good, could …

Standards have fallen on SAGA. The restaurant staff all seem hassled. Food delivered via cabin service was not hot. Disembarkation at Portsmouth was lengthy and dispiriting. The overall atmosphere is a cross between a retirement home and a golf club bar. The captain seemed to use that as an excuse for a sense of humour that belongs in the 1970s. The best thing is the hardworking ‘hotel’ staff who …

The cruise was called “A Taste Of The Continent”. My husband and I have enjoyed another wonderful cruise on the Spirit Of Discovery. This was our 5th cruise on this lovely ship. I have not reviewed this ship before but the quality of this cruise necessitated that I review. We were collected from home by a chauffeur who looked like he had walked out of a Saville Row window, so incredibly smart. He …

We have just returned from our first Saga cruise on the Spirit of Discovery – 14 days round trip from Dover, departing on 17th August 2022, calling at St Peter Port, La Rochelle, Bordeaux, La Coruna, Gijon, Santander and Brest.
Although this was our first cruise with Saga we consider ourselves seasoned cruisers with many trips over the last 18 years, including Celebrity, Princess, Azamara, …

Saga cruise to Norway and Svalbard, July 2022:
Covid testing and security was efficient at Southampton.
SOA is a beautiful ship, decent sized cabins and bathrooms, with everything you could possibly need and if there is something you need just ask for it. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, but the service in the Main Dining Room can be slow at times. You are asked on entry to MDR if …

This was our first time on any Saga holiday and we both agreed that ‘Spirit of Discovery’ and the whole Saga experience is impressive. And the voyage was pretty spectacular too. We had a ‘Standard Twin’ cabin which was more than adequate. We didn’t like not being able to switch off the ‘night light’ in the bathroom, or the lack of a settee, but it was very quiet with soft-closing drawers and more …

We chose this cruise because we have travelled with SAGA before, know and trust the company and because we very much wanted to enjoy the experience of seeing Greenland again in a degree of comfort.
Boarding was smooth and efficient at Dover, although it took about an hour… but for 50 mins of that time we were in the luxury our chauffeur driven SUV. The welcome on board the Spirit of Discovery …

Spirit of Adventure Baltic Cruise June 2022
This was our second cruise on this one year old Saga ship the first being in January to the Canaries.
We have previously cruised ships mainly frequented by a more international demographic and were initially reticent to try Saga before the two new ” boutique ” ships were brought into operation. The new ships offer an all balcony smaller ship …

This was our first cruise with Saga, having only done one other cruise on the Queen of Elizabeth to Norway nearly 3 years ago. Once we had navigated through the covid tests the welcome aboard was excellent with a crew member showing us to our cabin. We had booked a standard cabin on D deck which was fine although we could have done with more drawer space. The stewardess who looked after some of . ..

ANEX Tour received its first cruise liner / News on Profi.Travel
The company will not give up cruises, despite the crisis in the industry.
Saga Sapphire cruise ship purchased by Anex Tourism Group CEO Neshet Kochkar in 2019year with Saga Cruises, arrived under the Bahamian flag in Marmaris from the British port of Tilbury. The ship has already been renamed Blue Sapphire. His first voyage is scheduled for 2021.
With a length of 200 meters, a width of 28.5 meters and 12 decks, the ship has 374 luxury cabins and can accommodate 900 passengers. The ship also has 4 restaurants, 2 swimming pools, game rooms and entertainment centers.
“With the acquisition of Saga Sapphire, we will be able to offer a unique Eastern Mediterranean cruise to our valued guests,” commented Neshet Kochkar on the completion of the transaction.
As a reminder, the purchase of the cruise ship from Saga Cruises was announced at the end of the 2019 summer season. It was supposed that in March 2020 the ship will make the last cruise in the Saga fleet, after which it was supposed to go to Turkey, and already in June to start cruises as the first ANEX cruise ship.
