From here you can easily reach other areas, here is the Picasso Museum, the zoo and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Mar. At the same time, Born is much calmer than, for example, in the Gothic Quarter.

A record number of attractions are concentrated in the area of the Gothic Quarter – this is the oldest part of the city. It is always noisy and crowded here, and hotel prices are slightly overpriced. You can also find many cheap hostels in Barcelona in this area, but the quality of such accommodation here leaves much to be desired.

The best hotels in Barcelona are concentrated in the Eixample, the most densely populated area in the city centre. It is here that the legendary Park Güell and the Sagrada Familia are located, as well as many restaurants and expensive boutiques. This area cannot be called a tourist area in the full sense of the word – prices are lower than in the Old Town, there are many offices, and there are much more indigenous people than visitors. At the same time, you can reach other central areas on foot.

There is simply no time to be bored in Barcelona, so many tourists try to settle in cheap hotels in the city center so as not to spend extra hours of stay on getting by train to neighboring cities where housing is much cheaper.

There are an incredible number of hotels and it is quite difficult to select the best of them. Let’s start with those that are the most attractive from a financial point of view. In our opinion, paying in Barcelona for rooftop pools, slippers, bathrobes and radiant smiles of the staff does not make sense, since you still won’t see all this when returning late in the evening after a day full of excursions. Therefore, our list includes mainly 2-3-star hotels, which are well located in the city center and are suitable primarily for those who go for a walk around the city, and not spend days in a room.

Condado Hotel Barcelona 3*

Located in a very nice and quiet area (nearest metro station Diagonal – 12 minutes walk). Plaça Catalunya is only half an hour on foot. Designed for people who will not sit in the room for the entire vacation, it is too small. If you choose a single room, then it will not be very comfortable to live in it permanently – it is too small. But, despite its modest size, it has a cozy design.

The rooms are not equipped with a minibar or an electric kettle. For the convenience of guests, refrigerators are located on each floor, from where you can freely take water. However, this is not a problem, as there is an inexpensive supermarket opposite the hotel building.

HCC Open Hotel 3*

The location is very good – close to the metro (Rocafort station – 4 min. ). A continental breakfast is available for a surcharge. Rooms are cleaned every day. A good impression is made by the staff – polite, and always ready to help the guest on any issue.

Problems that may arise in the HCC Open Hotel – electronic locks, open with a card, but may not work the first time. In addition, not the most modern safe can be a surprise, for which the reception will ask you to pay 5.5 euros per day.

Acta Antibes 2*

Location on a residential street in a good area, close to the main attractions of the city (Monumental metro station – 4 minutes walk). It is possible to walk in a short time to Plaça de Toros (the arena where bullfights used to be held), and to the Sagrada Familia. Very close is Plaza Catalunya, where you can choose your favorite bus tour on the spot.

For a large family, not standard rooms are provided, but improved rooms with two rooms.

Despite the modest design, it is always cozy and clean here. Linen is cleaned and changed every day. And this, despite the fact that the hotel has only two stars. Many guests note that the level of comfort and service here can be rated at least three stars.

There is no wi-fi service in the rooms. However, you can use free high-speed Internet in the lobby, which is located on the second floor.

Leonardo Boutique Hotel Barcelona Sagrada Familia

The area is perfect for relaxing after a day full of excursions. To do this, you can use the lounge with TV and computer, library. In the warm season – sit on the terrace with sun loungers and even a shower, sunbathe.

Living here, you don’t have to buy extra soap items (the necessary minimum is in the bathroom) or think about where the Internet is (wi-fi works properly). All furniture and plumbing in the rooms are new, of good quality.

Nearby is all the necessary infrastructure for outdoor activities. By metro (the nearest metro station is Clot – 3 minutes walk). Walking to the square, these five stops will take no more than half an hour. Walking along a straight street from the hotel, you can not only reach the Sagrada Familia in fifteen minutes, but also choose a cafe or restaurant where you can dine.

On the 9th floor there is a good solarium for those who missed the Spanish sun. But guests also note disadvantages – some did not have enough disposable slippers, which are provided by many other European hotels. There is no fridge in the rooms. And it is simply impossible to turn off the air conditioner on your own.

Evenia Rocafort 3*

Everything you would expect from the best budget hotels in the city center can be found here. From Evenia Rocafort, you can quickly get to the very busy Parallel Street, although the building itself is located on a quiet street. Therefore, you do not need to worry about the fact that the noise will interfere.

Five minutes walk from Rocafort metro station, from where you can reach Plaza Catalunya in just two stops, or Poble Sec (green line) station – 4 minutes walk. Nearby is the Raval district, which has many good shops and entertainment venues. Through this area you can walk in twenty minutes to the port.

Not far away is Plaza de España, a shopping mall, and a museum of fine arts on the mountain.

The design is no frills, however, the guests feel quite comfortable. The TV is modern, plasma, accepts, including Russian channels. In the bathroom – a complete set of mini-cosmetics, a lot of towels. The room is very pleasant to be in, despite its small size. The furniture is in excellent condition, everything is in good condition, the bed is quite spacious.

Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi.
