The Columbus monument (Mirador de Colom or Colon monument) is a memorial to the great explorer Christopher Columbus. You will find Mirador de Colom at the Southern most end of the Ramblas, close to the Eurostars Grand marina hotel which has magnificent views of Barcelona marina area and ideally placed to explore the city.
Barcelona Colom monument is a giant building towering 60 meters into the sky with the statue of Columbus standing proudly at the top pointing out toward the sea. There is a lift at the base of the tower that will take you to the top of this tower where you will have a breathtaking view along both the famous La Rambla and the port area. This is a little known view point and worth remembering to take your camera along for some unique photo opportunities.

Port Vell has an attractive walkway across the marina called Rambla del Mar. This walkway leads to a popular shopping location called the Maremagnum centre. However the walk in itself is reason to visit this area as it’s charming and you’ll have some wonderful views of the marina.

Columbus Monument And Viewing Platform Ticket
Tickets to the Columbus Monument and its viewing platform in Barcelona for panoramic views of the city from the top. An optional wine tasting experience is also included in the tickets. The Columbus Monument was inaugurated in 1888 as a tribute to Christopher Columbus, the celebrated explorer who disembarked in the port of Barcelona after his return from America.

The viewing platform is at the top the Colom Monument at a height of 60 meters. The lift within the column would take you to the viewing platform. You can have panoramic views of Barcelona city from the platform.

From the viewing platform, you will also be able to see aerial views of the historic landmarks of the city. Towards the north can be seen the historic Gothic Quarter, which is the old city centre, the Santa Maria del Mar bell towers, La Mercè, the Rambla, the Plaça de Catalunya and Gaudí’s Sagrada Família.

Towards the east can be seen the Forum district, the Olympic Marina entrance flanked by the twin towers, Port Vell marina, and the industrial port.
From the platform, you will be able to see the Montjuïc Hill, Montjuïc Castle, and the Royal Shipyards at the foot of the mountain towards south.
Towards the west is the Collserola Natural Park, which is spread across an area of 8,000 hectares, the Collserola Tower, as well as the Tibidabo Amusement Park.

Access to the wine tasting space, the Espai de Vins Mirador de Colom is included in the ticket as an option. You can taste one of the four varieties of cava and wine chosen from the Designation of Origin regions.

The Columbus Monument (Mirador de Colom or Colon) is a monument erected in honor of the great explorer Christopher Columbus. The Mirador de Colom monument is located at the southern end of the Ramblas, very close to the Eurostars Grand marina hotel. With great views of the marina, this hotel is ideally located for exploring the city.
The Colom monument is a huge structure 60 meters high with a statue of Columbus proudly perched on the very top, pointing towards the sea. There is an elevator at the base of the tower that goes all the way to the top for breathtaking views of both La Rambla and the port area. The Port Vell area has a beautiful promenade, the Rambla del Mar, which runs along the marina. This path leads to the Maremagnum shopping center. But it’s worth coming here just to take a walk.
