Barcelona Beach Bars – Guide Barcelona TM
Bars in Barcelona , located right on the beach are one of the most favorite places for Barcelona residents. Chiringuito is a Spanish word that causes only positive emotions in all Catalans. What could be more pleasant than a mojito in the heat under the refreshing sea breeze in the chair of these establishments on the seashore.
Chiringuito is a cafe open during the beach season.
April in Barcelona is marked by the construction of wooden platforms on the coast, where, as soon as the weather is warm, you can take a break from the heat and enjoy the magnificent sea view. But in November you will no longer find these cozy places on the coast.
You can spend a lot of time here talking with friends, relaxing from the sun and dreaming of staying here forever!
Bars in Barcelona, located on the seafront, will allow you to be on the beach almost around the clock, and for those who are used to not moving at all during their holidays, a service of ordering food from Chiringuito with delivery is available. Let’s talk about the best beach bars in Barcelona.
Do not forget to book rooms in Barcelona hotels in advance, as it is almost impossible to choose a good place by the sea during the season. You can do it on the link on the verified Booking.com service.
1 Chiringuito La Deliciosa
Chiringuito La Deliciosa – Barcelona beach bar
It seems that the owners of this establishment have provided for everything:
For food, you will be offered different types of salads, omelettes, burgers and hot sandwiches. They will treat you here with meat dishes and snacks, of which there is an incredible assortment.
You can cool off with beer, vermouth, juice, cocktails – the choice is great. All the locals advise:
- pinu colada;
- strawberry martinis;
- unusual mojito with coconut milk and hot chili.
The average price of a dish starts from 6 euros, cocktails – from 10 euros. Translation in the menu is present in 3 languages. True, there is such a nuance – in the summer, at the height of the season, it is always crowded here, there are long queues everywhere (most often in the toilet, because here the entrance to it is free).
This establishment is located on Barceloneta beach opposite Plaza del Mar, 1. It is open every day from 9 am to 2 am.
2 Chiringuito Vai Moana is one of the best places of its kind
Not always and not everyone in the summer has a desire to communicate with a large number of people, sometimes you want peace and quiet. Then you should go a little further from the center. And it is there that you will find this oasis, decorated in the style of Polynesian culture. Nearby will be tanned surfers, very attentive staff and delicious food. A definite plus of this institution and a variety of drinks.
A very romantic translation of Chiringuito’s name is Vai Moana – “Blue Sea”, as the inhabitants of Easter Island would define it.
![]()
Here you will find delicious burgers and nachos under a good deep house and the opportunity to sit between the cafe and the sea on comfortable sunbeds. The Pantea Group owns this establishment, so the range of offers for every taste and color is just as great here. The only difference is the distance from the tourist crowds.
Chiringuito Vai Moana is located on Bogatell Beach. It works according to the same schedule as other beach bars in Barcelona – until 2 am you can look into this institution every day.
3 Chiringuito Bambu
Once again, the owner is familiar to us, which means that the level of service is on top – the Pantea group tried to take into account all the needs of vacationers here, away from the hustle and bustle of urban tourist places. The beach bars in Barcelona listed at the beginning of this list have another very convenient service – you can book tables here in advance by calling or leaving a request on the website. In the beach season – this is a huge plus.
Chiringuito Bambu is located near the Forum exhibition complex, on Levante beach, take a walk along the coast to this place, and you will not only get to a beautiful place, but you will definitely get hungry (you will spend about an hour) and enjoy delicious snacks, the variety of which will make you choose you. If you don’t want to walk, the metro will take you to the Selva de Mar metro station in 10 minutes.
Pleasant music, sun loungers – everything you need to enjoy perfectly cooked meals. Finding Bamba is easy if you take the Carrer de la Selva de Mar street as a guide and go straight down to the beach from it. The cafe is open from 10 am to 1 am.
4 Chiringuito Be Gay
Bars in Barcelona are never boring. This chiringuito is considered the most cheerful and crowded. You will find yourself here after the nudist beach of Marbella, there are so many naked male bodies, playing with muscles and tan, that you will definitely want to cool off.
Chiringuito Beach in Marbella is called Chiringay by the Barcelona people, and there is always a very cheerful and carefree atmosphere.
The music that sounds here is quite club and rhythmic. They also love to dance, because a few cocktails will definitely work. But the service here is not very good. What to do if the cocktails are drunk, the new order is not in a hurry – of course, to dance! Despite all the shortcomings of this place, it is considered one of the most popular beach bars in Barcelona.
- From half past ten in the morning you can rent a sunbed with an umbrella for almost the whole day.
- Among the offers of this Chiringuito is a double VIP beach bed.
- The average price of a meal for a snack is 5 euros, necks and drinks cost about the same.
- To get to this wonderful place, you need to walk from the Poblenou metro along Bilbao street.
- You can visit this place, like other beach bars in Barcelona, from 9 am and stay until 2 am.
5La Guingueta Barcelona beach bars
Rounding out the top 5 beach bars in Barcelona is an establishment located in two of the most popular locations at once. How can this be? It turns out that a cafe with the same name in the city – 2:
- one is located on Barceloneta;
- another – in a quieter place – on Bogatell beach.
What is special about these beach bars? The fact is that they were opened by a very popular chef Carles Abelan.
This wonderful Catalan decided that beach bars in Barcelona should not have a standard menu like fast food restaurants. Down with nachos and sandwiches! Long live the best dishes prepared with love!
Carles was able to surprise his visitors with the amazing taste of dishes prepared in his establishments. Desserts and ice creams are offered here by Joan Escribá, one of the best confectioners. Families with children will be especially pleased with these beach bars in Barcelona, because the desserts here are not only tasty, but also healthy. Yes, and a beach holiday for adults will become more fun after a jug of ice-cold sangria based on cava sparkling wine.
In La Guingueta
For food we recommend to try:
- author’s tapas;
- bio breakfasts;
- ceviche;
- mussels;
- hot dogs with Catalan homemade sausage.
Naturally, the prices in this establishment are also expected, they fluctuate around 40 euros per person.
If you go to chiringuito La Guingheta on Bogatell Beach, be sure to order a paella from the nearby restaurant Escriba, located just above the beach. The taste of paella from this restaurant is unforgettable!
Barcelona’s beach bars run by Abelan operate on the same schedule – open at 9 am and close around 12 noon. The cafe on Bogatell Beach is located directly below the Escriba restaurant, on the left if you go down to the beach along Badajoz street. On Barceloneta, a cafe is located on the way to the W Hotel. Be sure that any Chiringuito of this five will allow you to enjoy life to the fullest!

TOP 40 attractions in Barcelona
1. Sant Sebastia Beach
Platja de Sant Sebastia, over 1 km long, is one of the most popular and oldest beaches in Barcelona. It is located in a small bay near the Old Town, between the port and Del Mar Square. The territory is well-groomed and landscaped, the water is clean. The sand is fine, brownish, clean. Cleaning of the territory and coastal waters is carried out regularly. For safety and a high level of ecology, the beach has been repeatedly awarded the Blue Flag. The descent into the water is long, gentle, the bottom is flat, sandy, convenient for bathing small children. The sea is calm, without waves. There are showers, toilets, wooden ramps for wheelchairs, a playground for children with climbing equipment. Dedicated area for topless sunbathing.
Sant Sebastia is a place where you can meet representatives of all age groups: young people, families with children, the elderly. Many citizens and tourists from different parts of the world. Popular activities include swimming, active games, parasailing, surfing, catamarans, jet skis, and water skiing. There is a surf school. There is a beach library – an innovation of the administration of Sant Sebastia. From the shore, you can see a giant glass sail – the building of the W Barcelona hotel, next to which there is an observation deck. Life is in full swing from morning until late at night, sometimes dragging on until dawn, until the last participants of foam parties disperse.
After relaxing on the beach, many go to the promenade, where you can take a walk in the shade of sprawling palm trees, sit in a cafe, work out on the gym.
Congestion is considered a significant disadvantage of San Sebastia. The beach is very crowded, noisy, but due to the large width there are always free places. For those who like calm rest and solitude, it is better to look for another beach, since it is impossible to relax and indulge in the serene contemplation of desert landscapes on Sant Sebastia.

At the height of the season, of course, there are crowds of tourists and the beach is dirty, but this is probably inevitable for Barcelona.

The beach is characterized by excellent infrastructure. There are beach equipment rentals, showers, changing cabins, toilets. On the promenade closest to Somorrostro, there are trendy nightclubs and pretentious entertainment venues popular with children of wealthy European families. Experienced travelers advise visiting restaurants and bars near Somorrostro.
The beach is quite crowded, but due to the huge width of a large crowd of people is not felt. You can always find free places. Somorrostro is suitable for both lazy rest and active games. You can rent jet skis, snorkeling and diving equipment. There is an opportunity to go water skiing, catamarans, go kiting, parasailing. There are places for beach volleyball, football. Not far from Somorrostro is the famous Olympic port with a large number of light yachts and sports boats.
A significant disadvantage of Somorrostro is the extremely high prices for renting beach equipment. A family of four will have to pay about €100 per day for renting sun loungers and umbrellas, but you can safely do without them.

“Beautiful beach, clean, atmospheric, wide, beautiful views. There are many cafes and restaurants, sports grounds, showers – the infrastructure is excellent. Easy to get to, close to metro, bus stops, shops and promenade. My favorite beach.”
“I didn’t like the entrance to the water, rocky, uncomfortable to enter. I would not call the beach clean, it seems that they clean it often, but the flow of tourists and citizens is huge, so there is a lot of garbage and the water is very often cloudy. Still, the best beaches are outside of Barcelona.”

“Clean beautiful beach. And given the fact that this is the beach of such a big city as Barcelona, it’s generally perfect. We were at the beginning of September, there were still enough tourists, but still not the peak of the season. There is everything you need, changing rooms, showers, toilets. There are a lot of cyclists and athletes, there are simulators.”
“Dirty, garbage floating in the sea. Sunbeds are paid. But relative to Barceloneta, Nova Ikaria beach is quite clean and calm.”
