Heydar Aliyev Center

Be sure to visit the amazing complex, which became famous throughout the world due to the absence of straight lines in its construction. Unique exhibits are exhibited here, telling about the unique history and culture of Azerbaijan. It is better to buy a ticket in advance, otherwise you risk standing in line for a long time.

Museums

There are many of them in Baku, here are the most interesting ones:

Active leisure

First of all, Baku has all the conditions for sports. You can run along the promenade, rent a bike or play tennis.

Secondly, you can go diving in Baku. To do this, you must have a certificate confirming your qualifications. You can also study in Azerbaijan. The most interesting places for diving are on the island of Pirallahi.

Thirdly, every guest of Baku should definitely get acquainted with the national cuisine. We advise you not to limit yourself to tasting (although you should pay special attention to it – you can even take a gastronomic tour), but also take a culinary master class. It’s really interesting.

In addition, it makes sense to rent a car in Baku. This will allow you to quickly explore the city and its surroundings. We advise you to do it in advance and remotely – cheaper, faster, without unnecessary bureaucracy. And lovers of yachting should go on a boat trip: admire the Caspian Sea and see Baku from an unusual angle.

Getting to know the city

The “mandatory” program includes a walk along Primorsky Boulevard with stops to taste the masterpieces of national cuisine.

Next is the Ferris wheel, which offers a fantastic view of the city. More breathtaking panoramas await you at the observation deck in Nagorny Park. You will get to it by funicular.

Well, and most importantly – a walk through the Old Town and colorful bazaars. It will be more comfortable and interesting with a guide. It makes sense to book a walking tour with a professional.

The capital of Azerbaijan is no less beautiful at night. We advise you to go on a car-walking tour in order to enjoy the lights of Baku and learn a lot of interesting things.

Unusual tours

There are two types of unusual tours to Azerbaijan: sightseeing and cruise.

1. Excursion . Most often it will be combined with a trip to Georgia. An unforgettable journey awaits you, during which you will touch the ancient monuments of culture and history of the two countries. And also fantastic natural landscapes and majestic mountains.
2. Cruises . Oddly enough, there are not too many proposals for cruises on the Caspian Sea. The most popular option is Astrakhan-Baku. The cruise includes several stops as well as exciting excursions.

Excursions

It makes sense to travel outside of Baku on incredibly interesting excursions. Vivid impressions are guaranteed.

1. Gobustan and mud volcanoes . 60 km from Baku is the largest rock “canvas” in the CIS with petroglyphs. The Gobustan reserve is a unique place where you should definitely visit with an excursion. And very close by is the world’s largest complex of mud volcanoes (by the way, scientists have found similarities in them with rocks on Mars).
2. Real Azerbaijan . It makes sense to set aside half a day for a tour of the Absheron Peninsula. Here is the temple of the eternal fire Ateshgah. You will be told the history of this amazing place, they will show you the rooms where the ancient people lived, who worshiped fire. This incredibly interesting excursion will introduce you to the ancient culture of the country.
3. Enjoying nature . During the excursion to ancient Gabala you will spend a day among mountain passes, impressive waterfalls and blue lakes.
