LT Biotech Ltd. COVID19 Rapid Antigen Test Kit detects SARS-CoV-2 virus in oral swab specimen or human nasopharynx.

For the test, a swab is required as a sample from the back of the throat or nasopharynx, the swab is placed in a buffer that releases virus fragments. After that, a solution with possible fragments of the virus is applied to the test cassette, which contains a specially designed antibody optimized to detect the antigen of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, if present. The test result is displayed as a bar in the test window.

The diagnostic process does not require laboratory conditions and can be performed at home within 10 – 15 minutes.

Instructions for use of the rapid test kit for COVID19 antigen

Step #1

Open carton, remove 1 SWAB, 1 EMPTY SAMPLE TUBE (CAP AND TUBE) FOR SAMPLE, 1 TUBE WITH BUFFER and 1 TEST CARTRIDGE PACK, and place on a flat, dry surface.

Stage #2

Take the TEST CASSETTE PACKAGE, remove the contents from it.

Step #3

Take the BUFFER VIAL and EMPTY SAMPLE TUBE. Open the BUFFER TUBE and remove the cap from the EMPTY TUBE. Add 10 drops (about 0.3 ml) of buffer to the EMPTY SAMPLE TUBE and cap it. Place it on the table in front of you.

Step #4

Take and open the PAD pack as shown in the picture and:

option 1: hold the patient’s head slightly tilted back and mouth wide open. Using a CLEAN SWAB, gently rub the patient’s tonsils back and forth at least 3 times, and then rub the back of the patient’s throat with the same back and forth motions at least 3 times;

OR

option 2: Place the patient’s head in a natural relaxed position. Insert the swab into the nostril towards the nasal palate, then twist to contact the mucosa and slowly withdraw the swab.

Important:

• The choice of option 1 or 2 should be at the customer’s discretion.

Step #5

Take the SAMPLE VIAL and remove the cap. Insert the SWABA head into the SAMPLE TUBE, mix well by squeezing the SWABA head 10-15 times, pressing the sides of the TUBE against the SWABA. Time the time and after 2 minutes remove the SWAB from the SAMPLE TUBE and set it aside. Put the cap on the SAMPLE TUBE.

Important:

• Sample analysis should be performed as soon as possible after sampling.
• Do not use samples that are contaminated with blood as the test result may be skewed.

Stage #6. Testing

• Take the cassette from the kit and place it in front of you on a horizontal surface.
• Take the SAMPLE TUBE and add 3 drops (about 100 µl) of sample to the CARTRIDGE window (S).
• Set the timer to 15 minutes.

Stage #7. Read result

Results can be determined within 15 minutes of sample addition.

Interpretation of results

POSITIVE: Two colored bands appear on the membrane. One line appears in the control area (C) and another line appears in the test area (T).

NEGATIVE: Only one color band appears in the control region (C). No visible color band appears in the test area (T).

INVALID: No control bar appears. Any test result that does not produce a control line at the specified time of reading should be discarded. The test instructions should be reviewed and the procedure repeated using a new kit. If the problem persists, contact your local distributor immediately.

Important:

• The color intensity in the test area (T) may vary depending on the concentration of the analyte present in the sample. Therefore, any shade of color in the test area should be considered positive. Please note that this is only a qualitative test and does not determine the concentration of an analyte in a sample.
• The most likely reasons for missing a control strip are insufficient sample volume, incorrect operating procedure, or an expired test.
