Barcelona Airport Terminals
The airport expansion program was completed in 2009.
The new terminal T1 was designed by Ricardo Beaufil and is located 4 km from the previous air terminal complexes – terminals A, B, C, combined into terminal T2. There are plans to build a third terminal.
Terminal 1
Currently handling 70% of departures. The total area is more than 500 thousand square meters. The terminal is equipped with 258 check-in counters, has parking for 12,000 cars. The facility is capable of serving up to 55 million passengers per year.
The VAT refund point (tax-free at Barcelona Airport) is located in the T1 terminal after the passport control area.
Terminal 2
Divided into sub-terminals A, B, C. After the opening of Terminal 1, it serves mainly regional carriers and low-cost airlines.
There are exchange offices, left-luggage offices, cafes and restaurants, shops, luxury lounges in the terminal complexes.
The transfer between the terminals is provided by free buses running every 6-7 minutes around the clock.
Location of stops: the first one is in close proximity to T1, the second one is outside T2B, below the bridge.
